Thursday Women's tennis at 7:00 p.m. All tennis levels welcome & encouraged. Members will be matched up according to ability. Never swung a racket, no worries, we will help you learn! It would be so nice to see a fun woman's doubles tournament to join the men's tourney at the end of the season! Let's see! See you at the courts at 7:00 p.m. 

May 4 2011: 

BPHA would like to offer Spring Tennis Lessons for children starting next week on Monday, May the 9th. The lessons will run for 6 weeks on Mondays until June 20th.  There will be no lessons on Monday May 23rd as we will be celebrating Victoria Day.  Lessons for ages 5 to 7 will be from 4pm to 4:30pm and ages 8 and up will be for one hour from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. The cost for the 6 weeks will be $30 for the half an hour lessons and $60 for the one hour lessons.  Dave Constant will be the coach.

TENNIS LESSONS - ROUND ROBINS - TENNIS RULES

Note: Please make sure your children know the rules and that appropriate clothing is worn, especially footwear.  No sandals or crocs will be allowed on the court.

Children's tennis lessons will be offered weekday mornings. Lesson times for each level will be posted on the pool office door on the weekend before the session begins.

Lessons for children aged 9 and up are one hour in length and cost $30.00 (5 days/week) per two-week sessions.  Lessons for children 8 and under are half an hour in length and cost $20.00 (5 days/week) per two-week sessions. Only paying members of the association may register for tennis lessons.  There will be no reduction or refund in lessons fees due to inclement weather or missed lessons.

Session 1 - Monday July 4 to Friday July 15

Session 2 - Monday July 18 to Friday July 29

Session 3 - Monday August 1 to Friday August 12

Session 4 - Monday August 15 to Friday August 26

Tennis balls are provided but players must bring their own racquets. 

Tennis Lessons

1. Pre-registration for lessons is required.  Registration for the first session will take place on Wednesday June 30 from 12 noon to 2pm.  Registration for the remaining tennis sessions will take place from 10am to 12 30 pm on the Friday before the start of each session, concurrent with swim registration.
2. Payment, by CHEQUE ONLY, is due at the time of registration. Please indicate on the cheque what the payment is for.  Cheques should be made out to BPHA

Dave Constant is available for coaching and can be reached at (519) 998-5862.  The cost of a private lesson is $35.00, a semi-private lesson is $46 and a Junior private lesson is $25.00.  These rates are for one hour lessons.  Group coaching is $17.00 per person for one and a half hours.  Cheques should be made out to BPHA. 

Round Robins

Men   -  Wednesday evenings 6 30 - 9 30pm

Women  - Thursday evenings 7 - 9pm

Youth (ages 8 - 16) - Tuesday afternoons 3 - 5pm

Tennis Rules

1. Proper tennis attire, including shirts and tennis shoes, must be worn at all times.  No swimwear is permitted on the courts.
2. No play before 8am or after 10pm. Juniors (age 18 and under) may not sign up for any time that carries their play later than 8pm.
3. Tennis lessons, Round Robins and Tournaments take priority over court bookings.
4. There is a sign up sheet for the week posted on Sundays beside the parking lot entrance to the tennis courts.  Any BPHA member who has a booking receives priority.  If you cannot use your booking, erase it immediately so that someone alse can use it.  Please note that if you are 10 minutes late for your booking, you forfeit your court.
5. Please share the courts. Bookings are limited to one hour per family per day.
6. Although outside guests are permitted within reason, please set up games with other Beechwood Park members as partners and opponents, to maximize court usage by our members.  Guests are permitted when they are playing with a member who is present.
7. During times when the pool is open, access to the tennis courts is through the pool area only, You must identify yourself to pool staff as a member prior to entering.
8. During times when the pool is closed, access is through the parking lot entrance. Members can obtain the combination for the lock from the pool office or the tennis director. Please keep the combination confidential for Beechwood Park members only, and replace the lock when you leave.
9. The courts are for tennis only.
10. No dogs are allowed on the courts.
