BRONZE COURSES
BPHA is pleased to offer Bronze courses for our members this summer. The schedule is as follows:

Bronze Star Session 1 July 4-July 15

Bronze Medallion Session 2 July 18-July 29

Bronze Cross Session 4 August 15-August 26

 

All Bronze Courses run 11am-1pm Monday to Friday.

Member cost $40.00    Non-BPHA member $70.00

Lifesaving Manual req'd ($40.00)

Sychronized Swimming Lessons!

BPHA has partnered up with Waterloo Regional Synchronized Swim Club to offer FREE synchronized swimming lessons. Lessons will be noon-1pm Monday to Friday for 2 sessions (July 4-15 and July 18-29th). Lessons will be taught by National level coaches! 

If your child is 5-15 years old and comfortable in the water (i.e., able to swim at least a width unassisted), you are welcome to sign him/her up. In order to reserve coaches, we need members to email their interest. Groups will be divided up by age/skill depending on how many children sign up.

The sun is shining and it sounds like most BPHA kids are off school tomorrow. To celebrate the PA day, we will be opening the pool at noon! So, there will be open swim 12-9 pm Friday, June 3rd.

We hope to see you splashing in the pool!

Swimming Lessons

 

The Red Cross Swim Preschool and Swim Kids program will be offered again in July and August. 

 

Swimming lessons cost $20.00 per two-week session. Only paying members of the association may register for swimming lessons. There will be no reduction or refund in lesson fees due to missed lessons or inclement weather. During inclement weather, water safety lessons will be offered.

 

Session 1: Monday July 4 2011 to Friday July 15 2011

Session 2: Monday July 18 2011 to Friday July 29 2011

Session 3: Monday August 1 2011 to Friday August 12 2011

Session 4: Monday August 15 2011 to Friday August 26 2011

Swim Camp will be held Monday August 29 2011 to Friday September 2 2011. Cost is $3.00 per day per child. There will also be a bbq lunch offerred from 12-1pm for the cost of $2.00 per person.  

Lesson times for each level will be posted on the pool office door on the weekend before the session begins.

For a child to be registered in Swim Kids 1, they must be able to touch the pool bottom in the shallow end with their chin out of the water. If they are not able to touch, they will be assigned to Swim Preschool where they must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Progression to Swim Kids 1 is at the progression of the instructor.

 

Registration for Swimming Lessons

 

Pre-registration is required. Registration for the first session will take place Thursday, June 30 from 3pm-5pm. Registration for the remaining swim lesson sessions will take place from 10am to 12:30pm on the Friday before the start of each session, concurrent with the tennis lesson registration. Payment, by cheque only, is due at the time of registration. Please indicate on the cheque what the payment is for. Cheques should be made out to BPHA. 

 

Pool Rules

 

1. Pool rules and regulations will be enforced by lifeguards. A guard on duty is to be on deck while any swimmer is in the pool.

 

2. One long whistle blast means EMERGENCY. Everyone must clear the pool area immediately after the blast.

 

3. Children 7 years old and under must be supervised by someone 12 years old or older while on pool property, including swimming/tennis lessons, crafts, special events and activities.

 

4. Child must be accompanied by an adult in the pool until they can swim a length of the pool. Any child wearing any floatation aid must be accompanied in the water by an adult. To be allowed in the shallow end of the pool alone, a child must be able to touch bottom with his/her entire head above the surface and must have completed Swim Kids 5. To be allowed in the deep end alone, a child must be 5 years of age or older and be able to swim one length of the pool with confidence. This is at the discretion of the lifeguards on duty.

 

5. Bikes, skateboards, rollerblades and other wheeled devices are not permitted in the pool area.

 

6. No alcohol is permitted.

 

7. Pets are prohibited in the pool area (i.e., must be kept OUTSIDE the pool gate).

 

8. Guests are only permitted when they are accompanied and signed in by a member who remains present.

 

9. All members must sign in at every visit to the pool.
